Conrado Fraga exploded at Matthias Krogsgaard in front of the media in response to Krogsgaard’s statement directly after Fraga’s disappointing 11th place finish in Lauchhammer – Herzberg, that he believes “Meine Berkhout is our team’s best sprinter and should be captain in the upcoming Netherlandse Tour.”
Fraga has developed his reputation as the “Portuguese volcano” due to his “fiery temper” while riding for Gradient Levellers, and it appears Alberta 1 management hasn’t been able to completely subdue his temper.
Fraga was caught yelling that Krogsgaard's “bad attitude” is to blame for his “unimpressive results” since he signed on with Alberta 1. In his 3 races he has only managed a 4th, 11th, and a dismal 64th place in Rosenheim - Königsbrunn, however sources say that he was simply practicing in that race.
Krogsgaard has also endured his share of bad press after walking away from his former team, lastplace1414, in a huff because he was forced to support Kirk Russel in a climbing race.
It is feared that these two “fiery personalities” may grind on each other in the future creating turmoil in the Alberta 1 camp and, as a result, Sean has hired a full time counsellor on staff to try and discourage this type of incident from re occurring.
In stark contrast, Meine Berkhout has a very laid back and focused personality, and insists on not getting involved in any kind of comparison with Fraga. Berkhout says that he “simply wants to focus on his form and getting the most out of the last years of his career”.
